Pune FC hosts on East Bengal in a crucial I-League Round-16 encounter at the Shree Shivchhatrapati Sports Complex on Saturday.

Speaking at the pre-match Press Conference, Pune FC Head Coach Karim Bencherifa discussed various matters regarding the game.

Talking about the recent performances, he said, “Like I have mentioned before, we have been facing the same problem as other teams in terms of players missing from action due to suspensions, injuries and the national team camp. I believe right now we are at 80 per cent of our potential. And that makes me happy with a little bit of regrets because I think if we had our best eleven on the field, we would be even better. So far, the boys have handled every professionally and have done their job. The fact that we are still unbeaten at home is a big positive. Also we got an important result in the midweek against Salgaocar and that gives a big boost to the team more importantly the youngsters we have.”

Coach Bencherifa further added, “Tomorrow it’s a very important game against East Bengal. We will be missing Dhanpal Ganesh as he is out for two games for the red card he received against Bharat FC and we miss Edgar Marcelino too who is out because of an injury.”

Speaking about his expectations from the clash, he said, “Both the teams won their previous games. We needed the win for our confidence and the same was the case for East Bengal too. So it will be a fantastic game tomorrow, because both teams have the quality. I feel that East Bengal have one of the best if not the best squads in the I-League led by two lethal strikers in Dudu and Ranti Martins. So I am expecting a strong match tomorrow.”
