U13 Friendly: Pune FC hammer King’s United, Mumbai 9-3

Pune FC Under-13s sealed a stunning 9-3 win over Mumbai-based King’s United U13s in a friendly game held at the Pune FC Training Pitches in Mamurdi on Saturday.

Having narrowly lost the first friendly 5-6 against the Mumbai based side a month ago, Pune FC U13s, comprising of students from the Soccer Schools at Mamurdi and Freekick, settled scores with a massive result.

For Pune FC, medio Chaitanyaa Advani powered the big win with a hattrick, as Stephen Chiru and Sharv Ghadge netted a brace each. Meanwhile, Mihir Sawai and Varad Yadav too got on the scoresheet to round off a famous win.

The game got off to a flying start with either side scoring in the opening ten minutes. Thereafter, Pune FC continued to dominate proceedings and pushed up mostly from the flanks with Arjun Menon, Mihir Sawai, Stephen Chiru and Chaitanyaa Advani combining well as Atharva Raikar provided some great support from the midfield.

As the first half drew to a close, Pune FC started settling into a rhythm an ended the half at 3-2 scoring just before the breather.

After a couple of substitutions at the start of the second half and a team talk with coach Akshay Randhave, the youngsters turned on the style with some exhilarating combination play, starting in defence, continuing in midfield and culminating in a host of chances in attack.

The Pune FC Under-13s stamped their authority all over the game with some slick passing and neat finishing as they scored another six goals in the second half to seal a well-deserved win.
