Pune FC ‘Raiders’, an Under-12 team from the Mamurdi center of the Pune FC Soccer Schools finished runners up in the inaugural Umbro promoted ‘The Cup’ at the Maharashtriya Mandal Sports Complex in Mukundnagar on Sunday.
A heartbreaking 0-2 loss in the final to J.N. Petit ‘A’ meant Pune FC ‘Raiders’ fell just short of winning the championship.
Raider’s topped their group in the league phase with seven points (2 wins; 1 loss) before overcoming Rewachand Bhojwani 3-2 in a penalty shootout in the semifinals.
Meanwhile, Pune FC Troopers (U14 side from Mamurdi) reached the semifinals whereas Tigers (U12, Mamurdi), Pistons (U14, Mamurdi) and Bears (U12, Freekick) finished in the Group Stage.
