Pune FC ‘B’ team opened their PDFA Super Division campaign with an eventful 3-0 win over Indrayani SC at the DSK Football Field in Loni on Saturday.
The win came after a hard fought encounter despite the clean sheet as Pune FC had to battle against Indrayani’s physical style of play.
Goals from Amos Lalnienga (52’), Asish Rai (78’) and skipper Sebastian Thangmuansang (80’) saw Pune FC open their campaign with all three points.
After some time wasting tactics in the first half by the opponents, Pune FC ‘B’ came out all guns blazing in the second half. After Amos tapped in to score the first in the 52nd minute, Asish’s header in the 78th minute doubled the advantage.
In the 80th minute, skipper Sebastian carved out the Indrayani defence to slot in the third and final goal of the game as Pune FC avenged the Semi-Final loss to the same opponents from the Guru Tegh Bahadur Football tournament.
