Pune FC midfielder Dhanpal Ganesh and striker Thongkhosiem Haokip have been named in the 38-man probable list for Indian team ahead of the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers to be held in June.
Medio Ganesh who made his senior national debut in the preliminary qualifiers against Nepal in Kathmandu, continues in the shortlist while striker Haokip, who has earlier been on the standby list for the senior team, will be hoping to make into the senior camp for the first time in his career.
The youngster was recently part of the India U23 squad which participated in the AFC U23 Championships held in Bangladesh in March.
The shortlist named by National Team Coach Stephen Constantine will be trimmed down further to a 26-member squad at the end of the I-League. The final squad will then participate in the Camp to be held in Bengaluru from 4th June, 2015.
India, clubbed in Group D, play their first match against Oman at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on 11th June while the next match against Guam will be played in Guam on 16th June. The other teams in the group are Iran and Turkmenistan.
