Pune FC Women’s Team will kick off their historic maiden campaign against SKF Football Academy in the PDFA Women’s League at the Dobarwadi Ground in Ghorpadi on Saturday, March 21st, 2015.
Led by Coach Kalpana Dass, an AFC ‘B’ License holder, Pune FC will be hoping to make their mark at the local level in the inaugural season of the Women’s League organised by the Poona District Football Association.
The seven-team league will be played in a round-robin format with each team facing all the other six teams once. The seven teams include SKF Football Academy, Diegoes FA, FC Beckdinho, Azam Campus, UPSA and a seventh team apart from Pune FC.
Post their first ever competitive clash against SKF, Pune FC will face Diegoes FA (March 22), FC Beckdinho (March 28), Azam Campus (April 4), the seventh team (April 12) and UPSA (April 25) in the remaining games.
Scheduled to be played on weekends only till April 26th, the games will played in two halves of 20-min each with a five minute break.
Ahead of their maiden campaign, the Pune FC team which was shortlisted after an ‘Open Trials’ in late-January, has been practicing at the Maharashtriya Mandal Sports Complex Turfs in Mukundnagar for the past two months.
