Pune FC Soccer Schools bagged their second title of the season emerging victorious in the Under-14 section of the inaugural SSVM Group 5-a-side Football Championship in Sangvi.
Comprised of boys from the Mamurdi Centre of the Pune FC Soccer Schools’, the Under-14 team logged three consecutive wins to clinch their second trophy in as many weeks after winning the Under-12 section at the SANJ Memorial Tourney in Pimple Nilakh in the first week of December.
The competition which was played over three days at the PWD Ground in Sangvi saw Pune FC Soccer Schools begin their campaign with a narrow 1-0 win over SoccerTrac Academy in the quarterfinals. The following day they logged a similar 1-0 win over Aryans Academy in the semis to make it to the big final.
Up against home side Sangvi FC in the title-decider, the youngsters from the Pune FC Soccer Schools kept their composure to score twice in the first half and seal a comfortable 2-0 win.
Meanwhile, striker Anish Pingale impressed one and all with his performances on the field having scored in all three games and was voted the ‘Best Player’ in the competition.
