Pune FC take on Mohun Bagan AC in a crucial I-League Round-5 away encounter at the Salt Lake Stadium on Saturday.
Speaking at the pre-match Press Conference on Friday, Coach Karim Bencherifa discussed various matters.
Giving his views on the big game, Coach Bencherifa said, “Despite whatever is being said and written about the game, we are only thinking about ourselves. We want to win three points from this game which will improve our overall tally. As a team, we have improved game after game. We have a lot of unity in our squad and players are working well as a unit. We have had this understanding for a long time that we have to win together and if something doesn’t go our way, we still have to face it together and tomorrow will be no different.”
Talking about the hosts, he said, “We already have played twice against Bagan this season. In both the games, they had different set of players. But again, Mohun Bagan boasts one of the best and strong squads in the league which makes them one of the favourites in the competition.”
Coach Bencherifa further added, “It is no secret that I do share love and affection with the football lovers in Kolkata. The fans in Kolkata are very knowledgeable fans and they will appreciate if we play good football. I hope for a good quality game from both sides for these fans who enjoy and deserve a good game. I can assure all that we will be top professionals and will play like we always do - with fair play and determination. We will definitely give our best to win this game.”
