Pune FC face Sporting Clube de Goa in the final game of the 2014-15 season at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Saturday.
Speaking at the pre-match Press Conference, Pune FC Asst. Coach Gift Raikhan discussed various matters.
Talking about the atmosphere in the team, Coach Raikhan said, “All the boys are happy after winning back to back away games against two strong sides in East Bengal and Shillong Lajong. But we can’t take it easy in the final game against Sporting. They are fighting relegation and at the same time, we too need a win to finish in a better position. So it will be an intense game.”
He further explained, “We can’t predict what the outcome of the other games will be tomorrow. But we have to do our job against Sporting. The boys are well prepared and we hope for a good game to end the season on a high. As I said, we want to finish as high as possible in the standings.”
When asked about the injury problems in the squad, Pune FC skipper Arata Izumi said, “I wish we could’ve played a few matches with the entire squad available. But that is something not in our hand. However, at the same time, the young players in the squad have stepped up in the absence of the seniors and that is a good positive sign for the future.”
