Pune FC ‘A’ went down 1-2 to DSK Shivajians in a PDFA Super Division League Round-9 encounter at the DSK Football Field on Monday.
Resuming action in the local league after finishing runners-up in the recently concluded U19 I-League, Pune FC put up a good show dominating proceedings in the first half. However, both sides couldn’t get the breakthrough and the half ended goalless.
The second half began in similar fashion with Pune FC pushing up. This time they made it count with midfielder Altamash Sayed scoring the opener in the 69th minute. The youngster slotted home Sannik Murmu’s pass to give Pune FC a 1-0 lead.
Poor defending cost Pune FC in the final ten minutes, as hosts Shivajians struck twice. They first pulled level in the 84th minute before another defensive lapse allowed Shivajians’ ex-Pune FC player Janak Kudmal to score the winner in the third minute of injury time.
The loss was Pune FC A’s first of the campaign and they dropped to second in the standings with 20 points behind leaders Bishop’s FC (21 pts).
