PDFA Super Division: Rd 7 - Pune FC ‘A’ 8-1 VOBA

Pune FC ‘A’ thrashed Vincent’s Old Boys Association (VOBA) 8-1 in a PDFA Super Division League Round-7 encounter at the DSK Football Field in Loni on Saturday.

Four goals by Chesterpaul Lyngdoh (2^nd, 44^th, 69^th, 90^th minute) and a brace each by Altamash Sayed (55^th, 72^nd) and Arif Shaikh (79^th, 81^st) were enough to demolish VOBA.

The win also took Pune FC ‘A’ back to the summit of the Super Division standings with 17 points ahead of second placed Pune FC ‘B’ (15 points).

In a match which saw Pune FC ‘A’ dominate the game right from the opening minute, it was Chesterpaul who shone out for his dazzling display on the field. In as early as the second minute a clumsy tackle on Tomba in the VOBA box earned Pune FC a penalty. Chesterpaul who stepped up to take it made no mistake and slotted it in to give Pune FC the lead.

He then scored the second in the 44^th minute, when a well-placed pass by Prakash saw him slot it in past the VOBA custodian.

Chesterpaul was involved in the third goal too. A well put pass in the 55^th minute by him saw the ball arrive in front of Altamash who made no mistake in putting it into the goal. Chesterpaul got his hat trick in the 69^th minute when substitute Pradeesh Clement passed the ball to him and he drove it in for the team’s fourth and his third.

In the 72^nd minute Md. Asif send a brilliant pass in to Altamash who made no mistake and shot it in from close to complete his brace. Seven minutes later Altamash returned the favour by sending in a long ball to Arif who slotted in the sixth goal of the game for Pune FC ‘A’ after having come on as a substitute three minutes before. Two minutes later another pass from Altamash to Arif saw him score his second goal of the evening.

The tally was completed by Chesterpaul who scored the last goal of the game in the 90^th minute after getting a pass from Dimple down the right flank. He calmly slotted the ball past the VOBA custodian. The only consolation for VOBA in this carnage was the fact that they managed to pull one goal back thereby losing 8-1 in the process.
