PDFA Super Division: Rd 6 - Pune FC ‘B’ 3-0 Sangam YB

Pune FC ‘B’ slammed three goals past Sangam Young Boys to record their fourth win in a PDFA Super Division League Round-6 encounter at the DSK Football Field in Loni on Sunday.

Goals from Abhishek Mhaske (4th minute), Omega V (82nd) and Buanthanglun (90+1st) ensured Pune FC ‘B’ (14 pts, GD +18) reclaimed the top spot in the standings ahead of compatriots Pune FC ‘A’ (14 pts, GD +17) on goal difference.

Pune FC began in an attacking fashion and in the fourth minute of the game Omega made a move in the penalty area of the Sangam Young Boys and passed the ball to Abhishek. He turned around the defender and slotted the ball past the custodian for the first goal. While Pune FC ‘B’ continued to keep up the pressure, they were unable to find the second goal as Sangam defended deep denying them many chances.

The two teams went into the breather with the score reading 1–0 in favour of Pune FC ‘B’. In the second half Pune FC ‘B’ stepped up the tempo and attacked through Asish Rai, Omega and Buanthanglun forcing the Sangam custodian to make a couple of point blank saves thereby ensuring his team was still in the game. Pune FC were also denied a penalty when Sajid Hossain was pulled down in the Sangam box during the course of the half.

In the 82nd minute Sajid won the ball in the midfield and built up well with Omega who shot the ball in from close range to double the lead. In the first minute of extra time Bunathanglun got onto the scoresheet when he made a solo run and ended it with a powerful drive that deflected into the goal. Two minutes later Pune FC ‘B’ climbed to the top of the table as the referee blew the final whistle.
