Pune FC ‘A’ bounced back to winning ways with a dominant 5-0 win over Parshuramians SC in a PDFA Super Division League Round-6 encounter at the DSK Football Field on Sunday.
Goals from skipper Altamash Sayed (6th minute), Loushingam Sanatomba Singh (17th), Sannik Murmu (41st & 82nd) and Chesterpaul Lyngdoh (62nd minute) handed Pune FC a comfortable win.
The three points also took Pune FC A’s tally to 14 points (GD +17), level with leaders Pune FC ‘B’ (14 pts, GD +18) who too logged a win in Rd-6, but they remain second on goal difference.
Having been held to a goalless draw by BEG in the previous round, Pune FC ‘A’ came out all guns blazing right from the word go. In the sixth minute a long pass from the left by Prakash Sarkar found Altamash, who instinctively controlled it and bought it on his right before shooting it in. Eleven minutes later Tomba received a pass from Pradeesh Clement and drilled it past the Parshuramians custodian to double their lead. At the stroke of halftime Sannik Murmu received a back pass which he converted with ease making it 3-0 in favour of Pune FC.
Almost immediately after the restart a double substitution saw Pune FC replace Tomba with Chesterpaul Lyngdoh and Pradeesh with Mohammed Asif. As Pune FC continued to mount pressure the Parshuramians were reduced to just defending the ball. In the 62nd minute a defensive error from the Parshuramians custodian saw the ball deflect back to Chesterpaul, who was making his return from an injury, and the diminutive winger pounced on the chance and slotted the ball past him.
In the 82nd minute of the game, Sannik received a pass from Manoranjan Singh and he made no mistake in hitting it in for Pune FC’s fifth goal of the evening completing his brace.
