Pune FC ‘B’ hammered eight goals past a hapless City Club in the fourth round encounter of the PDFA Super Division League at the DSK Football Field in Loni on Friday.

While Buanthanglun Samate (4th minute) and Amos Lalnienga (11th) scored one goal apiece, Omega V (25th, 54th), Abhishek Mhaske (75th, 79th) and Aniket Jadhav (13th, 35th) bagged braces in a game which saw Pune FC ‘B’ play with 10-men for the last half an hour.

The first goal of the game came in the fourth minute when Buaunthanglun sent in a deep cross from the left. The ball which looped over the keeper found him stranded to his spot as the ball floated by into the far post. In the 11th minute Amos who was running down the right put a clean finish to a combination move as he found the ball coming in from the left and slotted it in comfortably.

Two minutes later Pune FC ‘B’ tripled their lead when Aniket raced down the right flank and went behind the defence to net the ball in. Pune FC continued to dominate the game even after that. A combination run between Md. Yasir, Bunathanglun and Aniket saw the ball reach Omega who sent the ball in through a side footed shot. Aniket slotted his second of the game when he ran clear through the goal. The last defender from City Club almost bought him down, but he continued to run and shot it past the custodian.

The two teams went into the breather with the scoreline reading 5-0 in favour of Pune FC ‘B’.

The onslaught was not to end in the second half either. In the 54th minute, Omega scored his second when he shot the ball early from a 25 yard line. It dipped in low over the keeper and went in. Pune FC ‘B’ had to continue the game with ten men when Yasir was shown a Red Card for an altercation with a City Club player. Almost immediately City Club pulled one back in the 65th minute when a free kick from the right almost 35 yards out saw the ball loop over custodian Anuj into the goal.

Pune FC ‘B’ however were far from signing off. In the 75th minute Abhishek scored his first goal when he headed the ball in from the six-yard box from a Buanthanglun corner. Four minutes later the rout was complete when he finished an assist played by Lokesh as he ran behind the defenders and placed it in.
