Pune FC ‘A’ resumed action in the PDFA Super Division league with a dominant 5-0 win over Phoenix SC in a Round-13 encounter at the DSK Football Field in Loni on Saturday.
Returning from Kolkata after reaching the semifinals of the IFA Shield, Pune FC ‘A’ didn’t show any signs of tiredness as they romped to their ninth win of the season bouncing back after a 1-3 loss to Deccan Rovers in the previous round.
The big win was powered by a hattrick from striker Farukh Choudhary (36th, 40th & 46th minute) and goals from medio Prakash Sarkar (21st) and attacker Akshay Pashilkar (24th minute).
The result also meant that Pune FC ‘A’ moved up to 29 points from 13 games (9W-2D-2L) and stay fourth in the standings behind third placed Pune FC ‘B’ (31 pts).
