Pune FC Under-17s put up a brilliant show against a senior Bengaluru FC side before going down fighting 0-5 in their opening game of the DSK Cup 2015 at the DSK Football Fields in Loni on Saturday.

Playing against Bengaluru FC which boasted seven senior players with top-flight experience including two foreigners and two former India-internationals, the Pune FC side made up mostly of players from the Peninsula Pune FC Academy’s Under-17s and Under-15s were unlucky not to get anything out of the game.

While playing an attacking brand of football, Pune FC managed to create a few really close chances through wingers Buanthanglun Samte, Lalremruata and striker Lugunlal Haokip but lacked finishing in the final third.

At the end, goals from North Korean striker Kim Song Yong (35th, 71st, 84th minute), Vishal Kumar (37th) and Paul Shelton (44th) handed Bengaluru FC all three points. Pune FC will now face Gangtok Himalayan SC in the final group game on Sunday.
