PPFCA is based out of the ultra-modern Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Mhalunge-Balewadi in Pune, which is situated 17 km away from the city. The cadets use the hostel facilities at the complex which has well-furnished bedrooms with modern conveniences and facilities.

Modern, hygienic dining facilities within the hostel provide cadets’ a nutritious and balanced diet spread into Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Pre-game meals are altered with extra carbo three hours before the game.

Cadets train at the Pune FC training pitches at Mamurdi (Dehu Road bypass) on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The 100 x 65 meter turf pitches (two in number) are independently located in the serene surroundings of private property enabling every cadet focus on the job on hand

All cadets are subjected to regular gym sessions under the supervision of trained physical instructors. PPFCA provides its cadets a warden and a physio 24×7 within the hostel in case of any emergency. Quarterly assessment of performances of each cadet is conducted and those underperforming are subjected to the management call in regard to continuing at PPFCA

A regular shuttle bus is used to transport the cadets to the training facility at Mamurdi from their residence at Balewadi

Every cadet shall undergo a 2000 hours grind during the two-year stint that PPFCA offers to those who maintain consistency. The program outlay is simple and consists of three points PRACTICE-PRACTICE and PRACTICE

Apart from the two-time six days a week daily intensive training, PPFCA provides all-round developmental opportunities with regular self grooming and psychological sessions with an aim to graduate every cadet as a cultured footballer ready to take on the challenges on and off the pitch

The fully residential programme includes special features such as boarding and lodging, monthly stipend, playing kits, comprehensive medical care, a group insurance scheme and other benefits.

TARGET

The target is to win the AFC Cup. To achieve that PPFCA believes that it is only fair to guide cadets develop into quality players through a system that is totally dedicated towards excellence. The target set by PPFCA is the year 2014-16

 

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

The objective of Peninsula Pune Football Club Academy is to provide the mainstream of Pune FC homegrown talent by the numbers year after year. That apart the aim is to hone talent and also begin a production line of young footballers trained and oriented to international standards available to clubs within India. The strategy is simple - “Spot and Hone Them Young” and give cadets the best, in terms of training with modern techniques, tactics, physical and psychological conditioning and related inputs.

 


ELIGIBILITY

Trials of PPFCA cadets begin in May, 2013 as per eligibility of birth after January 1, 1995 (criteria was for the 2013-14 season) with a minimum height of 5’ 6” and weight of 50 kgs. More than 650 aspirants took the extensive trials. The finally selected group of 25 candidates are eligible for induction into PPFCA from July 1, 2013, subject to parameters.

PPFCA IS ALSO…

The academy conducts a host of corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity which involves grooming local youngsters by having its own U15 and U17 teams. Regular courses include - Coaches Development Program (both national and local level), Inter Village football promotional program, grooming local talent after inter-school scouting forms part of PPFCA responsibility.

Coaches travel the length and breadth of the country and work closely with select coaches in each state who in turn help organize selection trials. Cadets are called to attend trials and those with the potential are short-listed and called to PPFCA at Pune for a phased-wise final screening. The final cut is made based on the various parameters set by the academy.

Cadets are required to strictly adhere to the rules set by the academy. All cadets are required to maintain harmony and ensure congenial environment in the academy.
